Currently in Cuba, wearing a mask outside of your home, more than a personal choice, is an obligation imposed by the government. Whomever forgets it when leaving the house or even wears it incorrectly while in the street can face high fines. The police are authorized to fine or even arrest someone if they do not comply with these laws. However, many people complain that some of the police pressure or intimidate people to comply with mask requirements while the police themselves sometimes are in the street without their masks.
